About

Erina Shibata is an artist and art educator based in New York City. She makes abstract paintings and works on paper, including printmaking and collage. Erina teaches art to children, teens, and adults and has been a visiting artist and educator at colleges and art galleries around the US. She has exhibited her works in solo and group shows including The Yard at Herald Square, Brown University, and Art Expo: Chicago. Erina graduated from Brown University with a BA in Visual Arts and earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Erina is a recipient of the Luminarts Fellowship in Visual Arts. Currently, Erina is studying Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Erina believes that art is a way to connect us and build empathy, make meaning for ourselves and our surrounding world, and add a splash of color to our everyday lives!
